How to get the USA Work Permit

  1. Fill Your Form I-765

The first thing to do is fill out Form I-765. This can be done in two ways: contact a lawyer for help, or fill it out yourself.

  1. Attach the Required Documents

  • Photocopy of Form I-94.

  • A photocopy of a document confirming the fact that the applicant has applied to the migration service to change his migration status.
  • Two passport photos not older than 30 days
  • Form I-94 electronically.
  • A photocopy of your social security number.
  • When an applicant applies for help from a lawyer, form G-28 should be attached.

 

  1. Pay For the Form

This form has an approximate cost of $410, plus $ 85 corresponding to the fee that is paid for the biometric review of fingerprints. The total is $ 495.

However, payment is only made for biometrics service if you are submitting your application under one of the following eligibility categories;

  • You are requesting Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
  • You are an employment-based immigrant facing compelling circumstances.
  • You are the dependent spouse or unmarried child of a beneficiary of an employment-based immigrant petition facing compelling circumstances.

Note: No other eligibility category should submit payment for biometric services.

You can pay by money order, personal check, or cashier’s check. You can also pay with Form G-1450 (Credit Card Transaction Authorization) only when submitting your application at a USCIS Secure Location.

  1. Wait For Your Authorization

After processing, the applicant will receive a plastic card that is generally valid for one year and is renewable.

What Does The Permit Allow?

  • Be authorized to accept a job and work in the United States.
  • Replace a lost or lost work permit.
